French carmaker Citroen has globally launched its latest offering, the C3 Aircross, a compact SUV. The car will be launched in India in late 2023, priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.

Citroen C3 Aircross Makes Global Debut; India Launch in Late 2023

French carmaker Citroen has made its latest offering, the C3 Aircross, globally available. The car was unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show and marks Citroen's entry into the compact SUV segment.

The Citroen C3 Aircross boasts of a bold and unique design language, with a front-end resembling the larger C5 Aircross. The car features a sharp front grille with chrome inserts, LED headlights, and prominent wheel arches that add to its rugged appearance.

The C3 Aircross is based on the PSA Group's Common Modular Platform (CMP) and measures 4,155mm in length, 1,760mm in width, and 1,638mm in height. It comes with a ground clearance of 180mm and a wheelbase of 2,600mm.

Inside the cabin, the Citroen C3 Aircross is equipped with a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also comes with a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system.

Under the hood, the Citroen C3 Aircross will be available with a choice of petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine will be a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit producing 128bhp, while the diesel engine will be a 1.5-litre unit that delivers 128bhp. Both engines will come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, while an optional eight-speed automatic transmission will also be available.

Citroen has confirmed that the C3 Aircross will be launched in India in late 2023. The car will be manufactured at the company's facility in Tamil Nadu, and it is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).

With the C3 Aircross, Citroen is hoping to make a mark in the competitive compact SUV segment in India. The car will go up against the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and the upcoming Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.

Overall, the Citroen C3 Aircross seems to be a promising addition to the Indian car market, with its unique design, spacious cabin, and advanced features. It remains to be seen how it will perform against its rivals once it hits the roads in late 2023.
