Security advisor said on burning of youth alive in Manipur
Manipur's Security Advisor Kuldeep Singh has confirmed the viral video showing a young man being burnt alive. He told in a press conference on October 9 – According to initial investigation, the video is from May 4. The person seen in the video has been identified as Lal Ding Thanga Khongsai alias Lal James (37 years).

Ding's father's name is Jam Ting Mang Khongsai, he is a resident of Hau Hong Ching village of Kangpokpi district. Currently the body of the deceased is kept in JANIMS Hospital. Kuldeep Singh told that 'DGP has recommended the case for CBI investigation, because this is also a sequel to the video of women being paraded naked.
He said that security forces are conducting raids in sensitive areas of districts like Imphal East, Churachandpur, Imphal West. During this period a large quantity of weapons have been recovered.
Kuldeep Singh has been appointed Security Advisor in Manipur by the Home Ministry. Earlier on Sunday, Manipur DGP Rajeev Singh had told Dainik Bhaskar that we have also received the video some time ago and are confirming it.
In fact, on October 8, a video of a young man being burnt alive from Manipur had surfaced. Indigenous Tribal Leaders Front (ITLF) spokesperson Ghinja shared this video. He said that the video is from May, but it has surfaced only now.
In the 7 second video, a young man is seen burning alive. Some accused are standing nearby, only their feet are visible in the video. The sounds of firing are coming from the background of the video.
On the other hand, the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum issued a press release on October 9 condemning the incident. He said that this video is a proof of the atrocities being committed on Kuki by the Meitei community. The failure of the Manipur government forced the Meiteis to take the law into their own hands.
Two days ago there was a blast outside the development minister's house.
A grenade blast took place near the gate of the house of Rural Development Minister Y Khemchand in Singjamei, Imphal West on the night of 7 October. A CRPF jawan was injured in this accident. He has been admitted to the nearest hospital. Meanwhile, state CM Biren Singh reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
September 23: Pictures of dead bodies of two students surfaced.
Photographs of the bodies of two students missing since July were revealed on September 23. In the photo, both their bodies were seen lying on the ground. Also the boy's head was seen severed. However, the bodies of both have not been found yet. As soon as these pictures came, violence broke out again in Manipur. The families of the deceased students demonstrated to get justice. On the other hand, angry crowds protested at many places. Apart from this, the mob attacked at many places.
September 27: Mob set fire to BJP office
At around 11 pm, protesters attacked the house of the Deputy Collector in Imphal West district. Two vehicles parked in the compound of his house were set on fire, while the main gate was broken. A lamp post was uprooted and window glasses were broken. The aim of these protesters was to set fire to the house of the Deputy Collector. Police have found petrol bomb bottles in the compound of the house.
Apart from this, the mob set fire to the BJP office in Thoubal district. Apart from this, the house of BJP President Sharda Devi was also vandalized in Imphal.
September 28: Attack on private house of CM Biren Singh. Miscreants came to attack the private house of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh at Luwangsangbam in Imphal East, but the police stopped them about 500 meters from the house. The police dispersed the miscreants by firing tear gas shells. Security at CM's house has been increased after the attempted attack.
CBI arrested 4 for murder of 2 students
On October 1, CBI arrested 4 people including 2 women for the murder of the two students. He was caught from Churachandpur. Their names are Paominlun Haokip, S. Malswan are Haokip, Lingneichon Bight and Tinuping. The investigating agency took all the accused to Guwahati in Assam. Guwahati Court sent these accused to CBI custody for 5 days.
The main accused of murder and his wife are also among those arrested. The CBI also took away his two daughters, aged 9 and 11 years. The daughters are minors, that is why they were asked to hand them over to a relative.
On July 19, the video of women being paraded naked went viral.
On May 4 itself, an incident of two women being paraded naked took place in Thoubal district. Its video went viral on social media on July 19. It is seen in the video that some people stripped two women and did obscene acts with them.
The husband of a victim woman said, 'A mob of a thousand people had attacked the village. I could not save my wife and the villagers from the mob. Even the policemen did not give us security. The mob continued to commit atrocities for three hours. My wife somehow took shelter in a village.
At the same time, the mother of the other woman seen in the video said- 'Now we will never return to our village. There my little boy was shot dead, my daughter was put to shame. Now everything is over for me.
180 dead, 1100 injured so far in Manipur
So far 180 people have been killed in the caste violence that has been going on in Manipur for the last 4 months. More than 1100 people have been injured. Not only this, 5172 cases of arson were reported, which included incidents of burning and vandalism of 4786 houses and 386 religious places.
