This feature was rolled out for Android, iOS and Web in August this year. The feature was first introduced for testing in 2022, but has not been widely used. The company said in a "PSA" that Circles would be disabled until October 31.
The company also clarified that users will be able to remove people from their circle by unfollowing them. "However, you will be able to remove people from your circle by unfollowing them," the company wrote.
X said that once you unfollow someone who was previously a part of your circle they will no longer be able to see your previous circle posts. Let us tell you that this feature works just like Close Friends on Instagram and has been liked a lot by the users on Twitter.
While launching this feature, the company had said that Twitter Circle is a way to send tweets to selected people and share your thoughts with a small crowd. That means if users choose Circle while sharing a post, only the people they add can reply and interact with the tweets you share in the Circle. But users will not be able to use this feature after October 31.
