The number of electric vehicles is increasing in India, be it two-wheelers or four-wheelers. In this series, Bangalore-based Tresa Motors introduced the electric truck VO.1 on Monday i.e. 3rd July. This electric truck has been developed on the Axial Flux motor platform Flux350. This is the first electric truck to be developed in India. It has been introduced by the manufacturer for the global market.
The price, features, and sales of this truck have not been shared by the manufacturer yet. The company said that this truck has been developed for the global market. Special attention has been given to the axial flux powertrain and safe battery pack in this truck.
India currently has 2.8 million trucks, which account for 60% of emissions, and thus there is a great need for zero-emission medium and heavy trucks. With the vehicle scrappage policy coming in 2024 and fuel prices, this is the right time to switch to medium and heavy electric trucks.
It is worth mentioning that Axial Flux Motors is known for its small-size vehicles. Globally speaking, the number of companies manufacturing axial flux motors is very less. Rohan Shravan, the founder of Tresa Motors, told about the truck introduced and that it has been completely designed in India. He further added that the Tresa team in their career has manufactured more than 200 variants of trucks and sold more than 2 million units in India, Germany, the US, and Japan.
