Maruti Suzuki, one of India's leading automobile manufacturers, has announced plans to establish a new plant to cater to the growing demand in both the domestic and export markets. The company aims to introduce six electric vehicles (EVs) in the Indian market by the year 2030, as part of its commitment towards sustainable mobility.

The new plant, expected to be set up in Haryana, will be Maruti Suzuki's third manufacturing facility in the state. The company is investing around INR 18,000 crore (approximately USD 2.5 billion) in this project, which is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in the region.

According to Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the establishment of the new plant is a strategic move to meet the rising demand for Maruti Suzuki vehicles in both the domestic and international markets. He stated, "The new facility will help us strengthen our production capacity and enable us to introduce new technologies, including electric vehicles, in the future."

Maruti Suzuki has been actively working towards promoting sustainable mobility solutions in India. As part of its "Mission Green Million" initiative, the company aims to sell one million green vehicles, including hybrids and EVs, by 2030. The establishment of the new plant is expected to play a significant role in achieving this ambitious target.

Maruti Suzuki has already introduced the Maruti Suzuki WagonR Electric and the Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid in the Indian market as part of its EV roadmap. The company also plans to launch the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Hybrid and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Electric in the coming years. With the establishment of the new plant, Maruti Suzuki is expected to further accelerate its EV plans and bring more eco-friendly vehicles to the Indian market.

Apart from EVs, Maruti Suzuki is also focusing on developing sustainable manufacturing processes. The company aims to make its production facilities energy-efficient, reduce carbon emissions, and promote the use of renewable energy sources. This commitment towards sustainability aligns with Maruti Suzuki's vision of becoming a leader in the Indian automobile industry by creating a greener and more sustainable future.

The establishment of the new plant by Maruti Suzuki is expected to have a positive impact on the Indian automotive industry, creating job opportunities, driving economic growth, and promoting the adoption of EVs. With its aggressive plans to introduce six EVs by 2030 and focus on sustainable manufacturing, Maruti Suzuki is setting a benchmark for the automotive industry in India, emphasizing the importance of embracing clean and green technologies for a better tomorrow.
