The first of the three SUVs is the Tata Punch, which is expected to launch in July 2023. The Punch will be the smallest SUV in Tata's lineup and will be based on the ALFA architecture. The Punch is expected to come with a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and will be offered with both manual and automatic transmissions.
The second SUV from Tata Motors is the Hornbill, which is expected to launch in August 2023. The Hornbill will be positioned below the Nexon in Tata's lineup and will be based on the same ALFA platform as the Punch. The Hornbill is expected to come with a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and will be offered with both manual and automatic transmissions.
Hyundai's upcoming compact SUV, codenamed the AX1, is also expected to launch in August 2023. The AX1 is expected to come with a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine and will be based on the same platform as the Santro. The AX1 is expected to be priced competitively and will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the Mahindra KUV100 NXT.
All three SUVs are expected to come loaded with features and offer good value for money. The Punch and the Hornbill are expected to be priced between Rs 5.5-8 lakh, while the Hyundai AX1 is expected to be priced between Rs 4.5-7 lakh.
