After a few days of relief, once again the prices of cumin are increasing rapidly. The futures price of cumin has again increased to fifty thousand.

After a few days of relief, once again the prices of cumin are increasing rapidly. The futures price of cumin has again increased to fifty thousand. The effect of the government's strictness like imposing an additional margin to hold the futures price of cumin has been able to last for a few days. Despite this strictness, cumin has started becoming expensive again. Last month, softening was seen in the prices of cumin. But this month the prices of cumin seeds are increasing.
Spice trader Ramavatar Agarwal said that cumin prices had fallen last month due to profit-booking at higher prices and strictness like additional margin. But, now its prices are increasing continuously this month. This is because of increased export demand. Cumin has crossed the level of 50 thousand rupees. The supply is already weak in the mandis due to reduced production. Last year's production was 6.29 lakh tonnes. This year it may come down to 3.8 to 4 lakh tonnes. The export demand for cumin is also good at this time. Also, its stock may remain low this year. Cumin prices have started rising again due to less than normal supply in the market as per the demand. This month, 7324 tonnes of cumin seeds have arrived in the mandis, which is about 13 percent less than the arrival of 8434 tonnes in the same period last year.
The benchmark July contract of cumin touched the day's high at Rs.50,100 per quintal. The August contract has touched the level of Rs 50,515. On the first of this month, the July contract closed at Rs 44,930. In this way, the price of this contract has increased by about 13 percent this month.
