It is known that the condition of Go First is bad due to a lack of money and voluntary bankruptcy. The company had canceled many flights earlier also. Due to this, the passengers had to face a lot of trouble. On passengers' woes, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) chief Vikram Dev Dutt has directed GoFirst to give refunds to passengers who have booked tickets on the airline's canceled flights within the time frame prescribed by the rules.
GoFirst has also responded to the DGCA's show cause notice, which was issued on Tuesday after the airline canceled flights without any prior notice due to a lack of funds and voluntary bankruptcy filing. In response, the airline said it is working to provide refund or rescheduling options for passengers who have already booked to fly with them.
According to a DGCA official, GoFirst informed the DGCA that they have filed an application before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) under Section 10 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). The airline also said it has suspended scheduled flight operations for three days starting Wednesday and will take further action based on the outcome of the application before the NCLT.
