For the first time in the last 6 years, record GST collection has been done in April-2023. The figures of GST collection have come to the fore, according to which the GST collection in April has been Rs 1.87 lakh crore, which is a historical record so far. As compared to last April, this April, in the GST collection, Rs 19,495 crore more GST has been collected. Direct tax collection in the financial year 2022-23 was more than the government's estimate. Integrated GST collection has also increased from Rs 82,900 crore to Rs 89,200 crore.

Releasing the data of GST collection, the Finance Ministry said that the GST collection in April 2023 is 12 per cent more than in the month of April last year. Last year in April 2022, the GST collection was Rs 1,67,540 crore. That is, in comparison to last April, in the GST collection this April, Rs 19,495 crore more GST has been collected.
According to government data, only on April 20, a tax collection of Rs 68,228 crore was done. This is the biggest tax collection ever on a single day. A transaction of Rs 9.8 lakh crore took place only on this day.
According to the figures, in April, a total of 1,87,035 taxes were collected in GST city collection, CGST collection of Rs 38,440 crore, and SGST collection of Rs 47,412 crore. In this, IGST was Rs 89,158 crore and cess was Rs 12.025 crore.
