The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday raided several places in South Kashmir in the Terror Funding case. Over the past month, the NIA has stepped up operations against terrorists and their sympathizers in the Kashmir Valley.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided several places in South Kashmir on Monday, 15 May, in connection with the funding of terrorists. Army officials said that the raids are being conducted in Anantnag, Pulwama, and Shopian districts. Along with this, he also told that the raids are being conducted in Pahu, Chatpora, Sambura, and other areas of South Kashmir. The NIA and security forces have stepped up operations against terrorists and their sympathizers in the Kashmir Valley since April and such raids are now being witnessed across the valley. Officials clearly say that this action is being taken to root out the terrorist ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier on the 11th of this month, the Central Anti-Terrorism Agency conducted searches in the Budgam and Baramulla districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA on May 4 carried out searches at 16 places in Jammu and Kashmir as part of its ongoing crackdown on terror funding in Jammu and Kashmir in a case related to separatist and separatist activities of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami.
During the raids, the agency carried out searches at the residences of Abdul Khaliq Regu, Javid Ahmed Dhobi in Syed Karim, and Shoaib Ahmed Choor in Sangri Colony in Baramulla district. All of them are accused of aiding in the terrorist conspiracy.
The NIA investigation so far has revealed that Jamaat-e-Islami members were collecting funds from here and abroad for purported Islamocratic purposes like the promotion of education and health along with charity. The funds were being used for violent and separatist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Funds were also being sent to banned terrorist organizations such as Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and other organizations through various channels.
