The incident took place at a private company located in Viragalur village in Ariyalur district, although the cause of the fire is not yet known. CM Stalin said that five injured people have been admitted to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital and are being given special medical care.
CM Stalin said he has deployed his cabinet ministers SS Shivshankar and CV Ganesan to expedite rescue and relief activities. The CM has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of each deceased, Rs 1 lakh to the seriously injured, and Rs 50,000 to those with moderate injuries.
