Asia Cup: Will Jai Shah go to Pakistan to watch the opening match, PCB sent invitation
Asia Cup 2023: PCB has invited Asian Cricket Council President Jay Shah for the inaugural match to be played between Pakistan and Nepal on 30 August. Now it remains to be seen whether Jai Shah, who did not send the Indian team to Pakistan, will himself go to Multan?

There are now about two weeks left for the start of the Asia Cup 2023. The inaugural match of this tournament will be played between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan, Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board has started preparations for the grand opening of the tournament. The PCB has invited BCCI Secretary and Asian Cricket Council President Jay Shah to watch the inaugural match on 30 August. Now it remains to be seen whether Jai Shah, who did not send the Indian team to Pakistan, will himself go to Multan?
The Pakistan Cricket Board has said that along with Jay Shah, it has also invited several other board chiefs associated with the Asian Cricket Council for the first match. It has been learned from PCB sources that an invitation letter has been sent to Jay Shah. However, the chances of Jai Shah going to Pakistan are very less.
A PCB source told PTI that PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf had verbally invited ACC chief Jay Shah during the International Cricket Council meeting held in Durban. At the same time, now a formal invitation has been sent by the PCB.
On the other hand, according to the Pakistani media, Jay Shah accepted the PCB's invitation, but this claim was rejected by the BCCI secretary. A source well-acquainted with the current India-Pakistan relations says that the PCB's intention behind the invitation to Jay Shah is to show that it keeps sports and politics separate.
