Congress surrounded by 'corruption rate card' against BJP, Election Commission issued a notice
Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023: The Election Commission on Saturday issued a notice to the Karnataka unit of the Congress over 'corruption rate card' advertisements published in newspapers against the BJP. The Election Commission said that it has been given time till Sunday evening to prove the allegations.

During the election campaign, controversy has increased over an advertisement of the State Congress Committee. The Election Commission on Saturday issued a notice to the Karnataka unit of the Congress over 'corruption rate card' advertisements published in newspapers against the BJP. The commission said that evidence should be provided by Sunday evening to prove the allegations.
BJP has sent legal notices and complaints to Karnataka Congress Committee, DK Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah and Rahul Gandhi in the matter of 'corruption rate card' advertisements. The Election Commission has considered that advertisement a violation of the model code of conduct. The Commission has issued a show cause notice to the Congress. The Election Commission has asked the Congress to file its reply to this notice by 7 pm tomorrow i.e. Sunday, May 7.
Let us tell you that ahead of the May 10 assembly elections in Karnataka, Congress released posters and advertisements listing the corruption rate in the state between 2019 and 2023 and termed the BJP government as a 'trouble engine'.
