Odisha train accident and Manipur violence mentioned in Modi cabinet meeting
Modi Cabinet: A cabinet meeting was held under the leadership of PM Modi in which Union Minister Piyush Goyal mentioned the Odisha train accident and Manipur violence. Also expressed deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident.

The Union Cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday, June 7 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this meeting, condolences were expressed to the families of those who died in the Odisha train accident and Manipur violence. Along with wishing the injured a speedy recovery. However, some other decisions were also taken in the meeting. Decisions related to farmers, BSNL, and Gurugram City Center Metro were included. After the meeting, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that for 2023-24, approval has been given to increase the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy by Rs 143 to Rs 2,183 per quintal.
Piyush Goyal further said that apart from paddy, the minimum support price of moong has been increased the most to Rs 8,558 per quintal. According to the news agency PTI, the maximum support price of moong dal is 10.4 percent, groundnut 9%, sesamum 10.3%, paddy 7%, jowar, bajra, ragi, table, arhar dal, urad dal, soybean, and sunflower. An increase of about 6 to 7 percent has been made on seeds for the financial year 2023-2024.
Apart from this, while talking about the package of BSNL in the meeting, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that the third revival package for BSNL has been approved. Along with this, it has also been decided to allocate it under the 4G/5G spectrum. While a package of Rs 89047 crore has been fixed for this.
In the meeting, approval has been given to the proposal of Metro connectivity connecting the Dwarka Expressway sideline with Cyber City Gurugram from HUDA City Center. Piyush Goyal gave this information in the meeting. He informed that the cost of this proposal would be Rs 5,452 crore. He also informed that the proposal of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has been approved in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by PM Modi.
Goyal said that under this the metro will be spread over 28.5 kilometers and will have 27 stations. The project will take four years to complete from the date of approval. This will benefit the people of Haryana, especially Gurugram and Delhi.
Piyush Goyal expressed condolences to the families of those who died while talking about the Odisha train accident and Manipur violence during the cabinet meeting. Also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Three trains met with an accident at around 7 pm on Friday (June 2) near Bahanaga Bazar station in the Balasore district of Odisha. There was Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah Express and a goods train parked at the station. 288 people have died in the accident.
Violent clashes broke out on May 3 after a 'tribal solidarity march' was organized in the hill districts to protest against the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status in Manipur, according to news agency PTI. So far, about 100 people have died in the violence.
