The film 'The Kerala Story', based on the theme of converting Hindu girls into Muslims and making them terrorists in Kerala, has been in discussion since its release. Many Hindutva organizations including the BJP told this film the disclosure of the terrorist conspiracy going on in Kerala, while many opposition parties called it a picture of disturbing communal harmony and promoting lies in the society. The film has been banned in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. The producer of The Kerala Story filed a petition in the Supreme Court when the film was banned in West Bengal. The Supreme Court has fixed the date of the hearing. The Supreme Court will hear the matter on May 12.

The Supreme Court will hear on May 12 the petition against the banning of the film The Kerala Story in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. The producer of the film has filed this petition. Petitioner's counsel Harish Salve appealed to a bench of CJI DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha to hear the matter urgently.

A petition has also been filed against the Kerala High Court's refusal to stay the film's release. On this, the court has fixed the date of May 15 for a hearing. The bench also asked Salve's plea to be heard on the same day. But Salve said that we are suffering every day due to the ban, after which the court has agreed to hear on May 12.
