The 47th match of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In this match being played at the Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 runs, first with the bat and then with the ball.
Batting first after winning the toss, Kolkata scored 171 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Nitish Rana and young batsman Rinku Singh once again played brilliant innings for KKR. But both the batsmen missed out on scoring a half-century. Rana scored 42 off 31 balls with the help of three sixes and three fours and Rinku Singh scored 46 off 35 balls with the help of one six and four fours. Apart from these, Andre Russell scored 24, Jason Roy scored 20 and Anukul Roy scored 13 not out. Apart from these five players, no one could touch the double figure. T Natarajan and Marco Jansen took two wickets each for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
