Relief to Imran Khan from Islamabad High Court, stay on lower court proceedings in Toshakhana case

Section 144 has been implemented in Islamabad today in view of the ruckus created by PTI workers and supporters in the country after the arrest of Imran in the past.

Permission has not been given to hold any meeting or rally in the capital Islamabad regarding Imran's appearance. The High Court is still hearing the bail plea of Imran Khan in the Al Qadir Trust case. In this, if he does not get anticipatory bail, then Imran Khan can be arrested again.

Pakistan's Supreme Court on Thursday declared PTI chairman Imran Khan's arrest illegal and ordered his immediate release. The apex court also directed former Prime Minister Imran Khan to approach the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The top court heard the petition against Imran's arrest. During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial issued a direction for his release.

On the other hand, after the order for the release of Imran, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief convenor Maryam Nawaz expressed displeasure over the decision of the Supreme Court. Maryam has said that you should leave the post of Chief Justice and join Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) like your mother-in-law.

Maryam tweeted, "Chief Justice was very happy to see today's incident of 60 billion loot of national exchequer and he is even more happy to release this criminal. Worst for the attacks on the most important and sensitive institutions of the country." The Chief Justice is responsible, who has become a shield of unrest and is adding fuel to the fire in the country. You should leave the post of Chief Justice and join Tehreek-e-Insaf like your mother-in-law."

Here the Supreme Court may have released Imran Khan, but the Government of Pakistan is not in the mood to release Imran. PM Shahbaz Sharif's government has agreed that if the arrest in the Al Qadir Trust case is declared illegal by the High Court, then Imran will be arrested in another case immediately.
