Railway Minister told the reason for Balasore accident, Ashwini Vaishnav also replied to Mamata Banerjee
The rescue work of the horrific train accident in Balasore, Odisha is almost over. Workers are now working quickly to restore debris and rail traffic. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav again reached the Balasore train accident site on Sunday morning. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that we have come to know about the accident. The investigation report will come soon. Along with Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee also answered her question. According to Railway Ministry sources, PM Modi spoke to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav regarding the train accident and inquired about the progress of the repair work.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav once again reached the spot on Sunday morning. He informed that the work is going on fast on the instructions given by the Prime Minister yesterday. A track job was almost done last night. Today there will be an attempt to completely repair a track. All boxes have been removed. The dead bodies have been taken out. Work is going on fast. Efforts are being made to make the normal route operational by Wednesday morning. Right now all our attention is on rail track restoration. About one thousand laborers are working. Some are repairing railway tracks and some are removing debris. It is expected that by tomorrow, June 5, the tracks will be fixed.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the cause of the accident has been ascertained. The investigation report will come soon. Those responsible for the accident have been identified. Strict action will be taken on all these. The Commissioner of Railway Safety has conducted an inquiry. The accident happened due to a change in the electronic interlocking.
In Mamata Banerjee's statement, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Mamata talked about the Kavach system. Mamata said this according to her information. But the reason for the accident was something else. What Mamata Banerjee said was not the reason. Mamata Banerjee also in 1999, became the Railway Minister in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.
Mamata Banerjee's question was why the anti-collision system does not work. The Coromandel Express was not fitted with an anti-collision system, he said. When I was the Railway Minister, I tried to install an anti-collision system in trains. Due to this system, trains running on the same track used to stop at a fixed distance. Now, while you are here (Ashwini turns to Vaishnav) I would like to point out that there was no system installed on this train. The incident could have been avoided with the implementation of such technology.
