North&East will get gift of Vande Bharat Express train, today PM Modi will show green flag
New Jalpaiguri Guwahati Vande Bharat Express train: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Northeast's first Vande Bharat Express train on May 29 at 12 noon through video conferencing. In this context, the PMO has issued a statement. The northeastbound Vande Bharat will run between New Jalpaiguri station in West Bengal and Guwahati in Assam. This will be the 18th Vande Bharat Express train in the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making train travel easier for the people of the country. Till now 17 Vande Bharat Express trains are running in the country. On Monday, May 29, PM Modi will gift the 18th Vande Bharat Express train to the country. This will be first in Northeast, third in Bengal, and 18th in Vande Bharat Express at All India level. The Vande Bharat Express running between New Jalpaiguri to Guwahati will cover a distance of 410 km in six hours. The North-East Frontier Railway (NFR) is gearing up for the grand launch of the Vande Bharat Express train on May 29, according to a senior official. There will also be an executive coach in this train of eight coaches.
The Vande Bharat Express train will run six days a week. This train will stop at six stations including New-Jalpaiguri and Guwahati Junction New Alipurduar, Kokrajhar, New Bongaigaon, and Kamakhya. The train will leave New Jalpaiguri Junction at 6.10 am and reach Guwahati in the afternoon. The Vande Bharat Express will depart from Guwahati at 4.30 pm and reach New Jalpaiguri at around 10.20 pm.
There is good news apart from Guwahati, Sikkim will also get the gift of Vande Bharat Express train soon. In March, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that the Vande Bharat Express train would reach Rangpo in Sikkim by December 2024. The construction of the railway network for Rangpo is in full swing.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that at least 14 tunnels, along with 17 bridges, will connect the northeastern state to Bengal through the Sewak-Rangpo railway tracks. One more Vande Bharat train will be available by the end of this year
